Collective Creation Project
Magnus Theatre is proud to announce our 2016/2017 student project, INVISIBLES. This production has been written and will be performed by local high school students, with the guidance of our theatre professionals.
INVISIBLES is a play about invisible disabilities, an umbrella term that encapsulates a spectrum of hidden disabilities or challenges that are neurological in nature. The play specifically examines autism, anxiety, depression and learning disabilities. In 2012, Statistics Canada reported that an estimated 3.8 million Canadians reported being limited in their daily activities due to a disability, or 13.7% of the population.
2015/2016 Season – BLOCKED
Magnus Theatre, with the support of Thunder Bay Community Foundation and the United Way of Thunder Bay, facilitated a new play creation project during our 2015/2016 season.
BLOCKED concentrated on cyber bullying, the potential consequences of the misuse of social media and the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions. 15 local students were involved in the project as writers, actors and stage crew, and the project culminated in several performances on our Mainstage in June 2016.
