About Magnus Theatre

Magnus Theatre is an intimate 250 seat, newly built, state of the art theatre located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, a city of 110,000 with an independent Northwest spirit. The city, situated on the northern shores of Lake Superior, is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Canada and has ample year round recreation activities. Magnus Theatre, celebrating its 40th season, has been operating out of its new facility since September 2001. Its state of the art theatre equipment includes a fully equipped fly tower with 36 fly lines, 2 computerized lighting boards, 4 colour scrollers, 'Source 4' lightning fixtures, a digital automated sound console and digital imaging equipment.

Magnus Theatre's four core areas of activity include a six-play Mainstage season, a Theatre in Education program includes a TYA tour of the region, an adult regional tour and new play development. Our Mainstage season runs from September to April.
