Auditions

  • WHEN: Magnus Theatre General Auditions are usually scheduled annually in late June or early July.

  • WHERE: Auditions take place in Toronto. Depending on interest, auditions may also be scheduled in Winnipeg and Vancouver.

  • CASTING: Magnus seeks to cast actors for its Mainstage season of six plays, a school tour of two TYA plays, and occasionally for a summer production.

  • RESUMES: Actors wishing to audition should submit resumes before May 31. Resumes postmarked after that date can not be considered for the current round of auditions. A personal note from the actor, indicating his/her interest in auditioning, must accompany the resume.

  • AGENT PACKAGES: A personal note from the actor must also accompany resumes arriving in agents' packages indicating the actor's interest.

  • AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Two contrasting pieces are required (consisting of a selection from Shakespeare and one from the contemporary repertoire). Each piece is to be no longer than 2 minutes in length.

  • AUDITIONS APPOINTMENTS: Preference will be given to actors who have not auditioned for Mr. Crudo before. Please do not call the theatre. Details of audition time and place will be available when Magnus contacts the actor or agent.
